Amanda Kishel~ owner~photographer
As a current member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) I personally make sure all of my sessions and images produced are of the most professional quality. My fine arts education brings an artistic eye to the images that are created. I am constatnly learning the new techniques as well as keep up on the most exciting equiptment advances through continuing education oppertunities. I love capturing moments as they are...quick, real, emotional. I strive to use as much natural light as possible. In my opinion, natural light helps create photographs that show life and emotion as they really are. These techniques combined with others allow me to create artistic portraits that are as unique as your family. I shoot in an artistic and original way so that each photograph returns you to the memory each and every time you view the picture. For additional examples of current work visit www.myspace.com/kishelphotography or become a fan of my Facebook page, there's lots of fun video's of some recent shoots to watch on there too! Keep up with sneak peeks and thoughts from my most recent sessions by reading my blog.
Lets see what else can I tell you about myself? I love trying to make the world a more beautiful place! For a few years now I've done volunteer shooting for the Muncie Habitat for Humanity. I've got a gallery dedicated to them with a recent slideshow I created for their 2009 Annual Breakfast. I love raising awareness for the huge need we have in the Muncie area for appropiate housing for families. I also love learning about how to live a simplier, healthier, greener life. I have a big, organic garden which during the summer is full of fresh veggies~ if I can get to them before my son does! Want some fresh cherry tomatoes or red peppers... just ask, I'm sure I'll have plenty to share! I love growing flowers too. Spending an hour at GandM Nursery learning about flowers I've never seen before is one of my fav. ways to spend my free time. My son also seems to have a passion to learn about how to take care of plants and taste testing everything in our herb garden. I personally think there is nothing better than fresh basil on anything my husband makes for dinner. I think plastic grocery bags are a huge problem today, they constatnly litter up the gorgeous roads and float all around parks like annoying lost trash. I always take my reusable bags on my grocery shopping trips~ with any $500 order you'll receives a canvas "Kishel Photography Eco-Bag". Take it with you to the market...carry your books~ whatever you want, they are a perfect size to fit a days worth of goodies into! All my custom designed cards, i.e. Thank You cards, Save the Date cards, Birth Announcements and Holiday cards are all printed on recycled paper. I'm trying to teach my son that every choice we make effects the world around us. So, I try to make smart choices to help keep my life a little brighter. I want my family to enjoy a gorgeous world and these are a few of the things I try to do to help keep Muncie beautiful!
I am also a member of the American Child Photographers Charity Guild. To learn more about the ACPCG, please visit www.acpcg.com . If you are in need of a session or know someone who would benefit from this organization, please contact me through either website as soon as possible.
