So, just to fill you in our house is now on the market. Yup, we're trying to sell our first home, it's a good starter home, full of our first remodel projects, all the memories of the beginnings of our family, Hudson's first everythings...but time to move on to a bigger and better home! Since the sign has been in the front yard Hudson has only removed it once. I asked why he moved it, he said, "cause I don't want to move, I like this house just fine." As sweet as that is, it really got me thinking about what we're doing. It is comfortable here, it's smart here..not a busy street, 1 block from the elementary, park sits just behind our backyard, neighbor kids everywhere that play amazingly well together. There are certain advantages to living in a really small (and I mean really small) town. First, the video store owner is the only person who works there, so he knows who you are, what you like to rent and somehow never adds late fees to your account even the movie is a week late, not that I do that very often. Another awesome benefit is the postal lady saves my letters that I send out without enough postage and remind me instead of smashing that big red stamp that cancels out the original postage and makes you redo the entire envelope. During my last visit to the PO she handed me a couple of letter, wrapped in a rubber band with a nice little post-it note reminding me I needed to add .10 to them. Benefit #3 would be that the bank branch manager lets Hudson come in his office to play with the 'easy button' while I do all my 'bank stuff'. Awfully handy to not have to try and keep tabs on him while I'm dealing with things. Who would have thought, the First Merchants branch manager was also a babysitter! So, in case you are or know someone who is looking for the perfect home....I've got one for sale!!
