Thoughts from a Wedding Photographer...
So, you're getting married? Congratulations!! Welcome to the most crazy, busy, exciting, exhausting, fun and hectic time of your life....planning your wedding. With all the stress also comes the opportunity for you to create the most beautiful day you could ever imagine! There's lots of things going through your mind: which dress~ classic or trendy? Roses or lillies? Invite everyone or keep it intimate? Appetizers or a full dinner? Chocolate or vanilla or red velvet? The list goes on and on.
First things first, right off there's the decision of who is going to be your wedding photographer. Before you decide who, you need to think about what you want the photos to accomplish. Do you want your wedding photos to tell a story that starts at the hair salon and progresses through the day catching every detail and tear that could even include your crazy uncle dancing on the dance floor? Or are you only wanting to capture the major events of the wedding ceremony and reception? Are you interested in owning a gorgeous Italian leather album, with custom designed pages or do you want to have a large wall portrait printed on a canvas, with other portraits hung around it?
Kishel Photography only accepts 20 weddings per year. That's it. Once we reach that number, we won't accept another one. We do this because, we want to be sure we can dedicate the time we need to you and your images. A Kishel Photography wedding isn't a 'push the button, here's your burned cd' wedding. We work very personally and closely with our brides. We dedicate countless hours of getting to know you and your fiance, learning about your speicific style, creating custom image enhancements, designing Couture Wedding Albums along with fabulous, fun slideshows. We love everything about weddings and take time to showcase all the emotion and feelings involved. I'll also mix in some romantic, sultry, couture shots that are typical of what you would see in fashion or bridal magazines. Please look through my wedding galleries. You'll find most of my work is artistic and creative. I love to bring out your inner beauty and work hard to ensure that the lighting, location and poses complement you and your fiance's personality. After you've thought of what you want, be sure to find a photographer that you and your fiance mesh with. After all, you're letting them into a very intimate and personal day. You must feel comfortable with your wedding photographer. Some guys especially aren't too keen on getting their picture taken and if he isn't comfortable with the photographer he'll get annoyed and that'll show in the wedding images. I want all couples to trust me and allow me to work as I see things. I work quickly, spontaniously and on find the best spots on a whim. I work hard to flatter you in every aspect . I always combine elegance, fashion and tradition in many ways to ensure you'll fall in love with your wedding images.
No weddings these days are typical...and they shouldn't be! I know you're trying to put your personal touch on every detail of the day. Those personal touches should never be overlooked and should always be captured by your photographer. Your wedding photographer and the images they create are an investment. Once the day is over, all you have left are the dress and the photographs. Trust me, you won't remember the day. People are pulling you in a thousand directions, millions of hugs and family members everywhere wanting your attention. Honestly, you're wedding photos are all you have left to bring back those irreplaceable memories.
