After their engagement session in Ft Wayne we knew Morgan and Taylor were going to be so much fun to capture on their wedding day. They are the sweetest couple! By watching them, you can tell they adore each other. We just loved the color palette they chose for their day, and Morgan was breathtaking in her dress!
They were originally supposed to get married next year, but they just couldn’t wait that long! They put together this fairy tale wedding in just 6-7 months and it was perfect!
They used a lot of our favorite local vendors~ perfect ceremony outside at Minnetrista, Dandelions Flowers and Gifts did the gorgeous flowers, reception at Horizon Convention Center, the beautiful cake was made by Under the Sun Bakery, and our favorite part was the custom chocolate favors from Lowerys Homemade Lowerys Homemade Candies
Every detail was perfect! We just loved being a part of this wedding! Congratulations Morgan and Taylor!
We like to stand out and think of creative ways to get our studio name out there…Amanda’s latest brilliant marketing endeavor? Have a float in Ball State’s Homecoming parade! What a fun and unique way to get our senior models involved in spreading the word, and getting our Kishel brand out there! Our senior model program is full of fun surprise perks like being involved in our float this year for the parade! The theme? There’s no place like homecoming! With a Wizard of Oz theme, we came up with the best idea to incorporate it into showing what our photography studio is all about. We did a “glammed” up Dorothy(complete with the cutest Toto ever!), a glam Glinda, and coordinated our 2014 senior models with red sparkly lips and all! With Glinda’s bubbles surrounding us, and the Tin man DJing our very own custom “Kishel” Wizard of Oz mix, we featured a live glam shoot with Dorothy on our float! It was a blast and it came together perfectly! Our models were super fun and had a great time with the crowd! We had so many people come together to make this happen-thanks to everyone for your help and creative minds coming together to make our first float so much fun!
Dorothy’s GLAM shoot live on the float!
Glammed out Glinda–good witch or wicked witch??
The whole group-all our models with Amanda!
It’s time to unveil this year’s Kishel Holiday Mini-Session featured idea! This year for our featured holiday scene, we wanted to do something that the kids and parents would both have fun with! LIGHT PAINTING!! We created this one to give you an idea of how original this idea is! Your family will be the ones creating your holiday scene by painting with finger flashlights~This is no Photoshop trick! We’ve never seen anyone do anything like this!
This Bride and Groom-to-be decided they’d mix it up a little and head out of town for their engagement session! We had a great day exploring downtown Fort Wayne with Taylor and Morgan! They were so easy to photograph because they were so sweet the whole time! We can’t wait until their wedding in August! They’re such a fun, down to earth couple, we just know their wedding day is going to be fabulous! Thanks for choosing us to capture your special day! Allison and Will were the perfect depiction of what a couple should look like on their wedding day. Not so much that they are a gorgeous couple(which they are!), but the look in their eyes when they were with each other the whole day was what made them so perfect! Looking back on that day Allison said she didn’t remember much… all she saw the whole day was Will-how sweet! What a romantic wedding! We were so lucky to get to photograph this couple’s big day-all the best to you Allison and Will! Alli and Will’s Wedding Day
Oh my heavens…This wedding was absolutely stunning! The couple is so sweet with each other, the venue was perfectly gorgeous, the weather was a little chilly..(but, hey, you can’t tell in the images) & the Matt & Briana could not have been more beautiful together! They chose a wedding venue that was completely new to us-we loved it! We always like to go to new places for weddings. It keeps the creativity flowing!
Our favorite part of their wedding venue was the enormous, crystal chandelier. It was so classic and we had to resist the temptation to use it in every photograph! Briana and Matt had originally planned on an outdoor wedding ceremony, but the weather decided to not cooperate with that plan and it got moved inside. Despite being the plan B, the indoor wedding was so beautiful! Crystal chandeliers and marble pillars in an elegant hall make for a beautiful ceremony! Even with the chilly weather and the little tiny snowflakes that started to fall, Briana and Matt braved the cold for some photos outside. You can’t even tell from the photos that they were cold-they were having such a good time!
We just loved photographing Briana and Matt’s big day!
Thank you, you two for choosing us to photograph your most special day!! Can’t wait to see to see what the future brings for you both!!
One of our favorite weddings so far this year~ It could not have been more perfect…classic & beautiful in every way! A fabulous bride & groom and all of our favorite wedding people to work with = gorgeous images! Elissa is one of those brides who looks beautiful in real life, and then photographs even better if it’s even possible! She’s just got that classic beauty and Michael had some great style that day too-we loved how they looked together! Click on the link below to see their whole video! Enjoy reliving your day Elissa~ you were stunning.
We’re so excited for Memorial Day…why you may ask? Because our pool will be open and that marks the official beginning of our underwater photography season!
This will be our second year offering this crazy, fun, one-of-a-kind session to anyone and everyone! We love it because it’s one of the most challenging and creative types of photography and the images are amazing! Whether it be a senior girl in her prom dress, a senior boy skateboarding on the bottom of the pool, a family who just loves the water, or a dancer in a beautiful pirouette, the underwater perspective is so mesmerizing. It takes a lot of work to capture these images perfectly, but it’s worth it! Amanda suits up with a weight belt and all to steady her as she holds her breathe long enough for our subject to strike the perfect pose. With an expert behind the camera coaching you every step of the way, underwater sessions can be so fun! A chance to do something totally unique!
We always show you the finished images we take, but here’s a behind the scenes look at a few of our underwater sessions!
We can’t wait to capture more underwater moments this summer!
Every couple wants their wedding day photographs to be perfect. With all of the many aspects of planning you have to juggle to create the perfect wedding day, we thought we’d help by making up a list of tips from the photographer’s perspective that help make better wedding photos.
-We love to photograph your wedding gown on the hanger so make sure your hanger is pretty!
–Make sure flower girls and ring bearers get their naps! Don’t have them show up until they are needed for the pictures (schedule their pictures as close to ceremony time as possible). We have had so many little cuties zonk out just before the ceremony and miss their big debut down the aisle because of how worn out they are from the day’s excitement.
-If you’re traveling in the car in your wedding gown, wrap yourself in a white sheet and keep it handy for pictures in case you are outside and need to sit for a photo.
-If you’re wedding is outside and you’ll be walking in grass, get some “Solemates“!
-A lot of brides and bridesmaids naturally hold their bouquets up high by their bust line when walking down the aisle, but be sure to remember to hold your bouquet down by your midsection instead. It looks so much better in wedding photos if you don’t cover the top of your dress, and works better with proportions to hold it lower!
-Another flower tip–make sure you talk with your maid of honor about remembering to take your bouquet once you’re up with your groom saying your wedding vows, and exchanging the rings. You wouldn’t believe how many people forget and it makes it awkward for you to try to juggle both!
-Walk SLOWLY down the aisle…this gives not only the photographer time to capture your walk down the aisle, but it gives the guests a chance to take in the moment and see the details about how stunning you look!
-Smile more! The moment you’ve been dreaming of has finally arrived! You will likely feel a little anxious, but try to take deep breathes throughout the day and relax to enjoy the moments!
-Remember to eat and stay hydrated! Especially now that we’re fast approaching the warmer season…can’t have a bride passing out on her big day!
-Show your love….a wedding photographer’s favorite thing is to have a couple who genuinely shows their love all day long. So remember to look at each other often, show off your feelings for each other-if there ever was a time for PDA, your wedding day is the day! And stay together at the reception…Spend time visiting with family and friends together, eat together, and of course, dance with each other!
Most importantly, remember to have fun, don’t worry about the small things and remember what the day is really about!
One of our favorite times of the year is when spring fades into summer and the warm weather and sunshine is finally here! You know what this means for a photography studio like Kishel Photography? We get to do one of the most creative types of sessions we offer-underwater sessions! We’re so excited to be in our second year of underwater photography sessions! Although it’s chilly now, summer will be here before you know it and we’ll be booking sessions like crazy with the warm weather drawing everyone outside for all types of sessions…and no doubt many will take place in the pool!
We love to be creative, and we love meeting people who are daring and want to take the plunge into the under water world with us. Down there, it’s the most ethereal and stunning world for portraits.
Here are some favorites from last year!
We have so much fun with all types of seniors who want to take the plunge!
